Why are my headlights yellow and hazy?
Headlight lenses are a polycarbonate, which is just a fancy name for high impact plastic.  This plastic is extremely durable but repeated exposure to UV rays (the Sun) and road damage from rocks and debris cause pits and cracks to form in the lens.

These pits and cracks expose the inner layers of the lens to the elements and the result is the oxidation you see in the form of yellowing and haziness.

I'm having a hard time seeing at night and the appearance of my vehicle is not what I'd like. What can I do?
You can give us a call and we can restore your headlights to a like new condition using our 3 step process that:

  • Removes the oxidation
  • Restores the original clarity, and
  • Seals the lenses against the harmful elements

How long does it take?
The entire process takes about an hour for the typical vehicles with two headlight lenses.
Is this just a wipe on product like I can buy at Auto Zone or O'Reilly's?
No!  Those products typically only work for a very short time like most home spun cures because they don’t address the root cause of the issue, which is removing all or most of the oxidized polycarbonate layer.  The essentially just remove the very top layer of oxidation and melt the surface which looks good for a few weeks but doesn’t provide a long term solution.

We use a system of sanding, compounding and polishing to completely remove the oxidation, restore the lens clarity and then finish it off by sealing the surface with a very high quality lacquer which will typically last years not weeks.

Will it last forever or will I be in the same boat a month from now?
Hey, nothing lasts forever which is why you’re viewing this now, but your headlights should remain clear for 1-3 years depending on such things as environmental conditions, type of lens and maintenance performed on the vehicle.

The important step to consider is the sealant post-restoration.  We use a very high quality lacquere that will typically last a couple years.  If you ensure that sealant or wax is applied to lenses during your regular maintenance, the restoration will last much longer.

That sounds good. How much?
Our headlight restoration services start at $74.95 for the typical two lens vehicle.  Additional lenses will be quoted on a per vehicle basic.
